The Department of Justice persuaded these attackers for around six years and finally trapped them to seize 94K Bitcoin.

In his video message, Paolo Arduino took the audience back to when this breach happened. He stated that Bitfinex took a blow of 119,000 Bitcoin from attackers when the organization was just a start-up young and growing.

Following the event, Paolo said that a team was assembled quickly in response to the theft to analyze the traumatic situation, and everything possible should be done to recover from this mishap.

The organization decided to work for reimbursing their clients who have inflicted the losses from the event. At the time of this hack, the stolen amount equalled $72 Million, which is a big amount, said Paolo Arduino. He added that frauds had surged recently, but 119,000 Bitcoins are a lot.

Nonetheless, the panic was not an option at the time, so Paolo and the team decided to do something regarding the situation so that Bitfinex could resume trading again. Apart from this, they also made strategies to cover the damages inflicted by clients.
