Jamie Lynn Spears said she tried to help her older sister Britney Spears leave her 13-year-long conservatorship in a Wednesday interview on Гоод Морнинг Америца, her first since the pop star was freed from the controlling legal agreement in November.

Though Jamie Lynn was appointed to distribute Britney’s assets to her children if anything happened to her, Jamie Lynn said she “didn’t want to be involved until [Britney]

was out of her conservatorship.”

“I have only ever loved and supported her and done what’s right by her and she knows that, so I don’t know why we’re in this position right now,” Jamie Lynn said, referencing the rift between the sisters. Britney has said she wanted to sue her family and her father for the way they treated her.

Britney has said she wants to “sue her family” and has disparaged their actions since being freed in November.
