As Russian forces were pouring over the border into Ukraine, the tech sector briefly tumbled into a bear market on Thursday. Both the Nasdaq 100 and the Nasdaq Composite fell enough that morning to extend their cumulative declines from their November peaks to more than 20%. It was the first drop of that magnitude since March 2020, at the start of the pandemic.

Later that day, the stock market staged an impressive turnaround. But I doubt that we’ve seen the last of the bear.
